Helpful by design
Our skilled PBS practitioners work directly with participants through 1:1 therapy and come into everyday settings to coach and support families and teams.

What good support looks like
Skilled PBS practitioners work directly with the participant at home, school or in the community, subject to local practitioner availability.
We look at communication, environment, relationships and quality of life, rather than behaviour in isolation.
Alongside direct therapy, practitioners come into everyday settings to coach and support families and teams to use strategies day to day.
Intake considers location, needs, practitioner experience and whether the service is genuinely a good fit.

Support is matched by location, needs, experience and current practitioner availability.
One connected process
A Behaviour Support Plan is one part of support. Skilled practitioners also provide direct 1:1 therapy and come into everyday settings to coach and support families and teams.
A parent’s experience
“The Positive Behaviour Support Group was life changing for us.”
“Madeline was so helpful, lovely and patient and such a blessing for our family. She’s truly an expert at what she does.”
A clearer experience
These are common frustrations people tell services about. Intake is the right time to ask how direct therapy, team coaching, communication and matching will work.
Not knowing who is responsible, what happens next or when you will hear back.
Being placed on a list without a realistic conversation about location, urgency or practitioner fit.
Having to explain the participant’s story again whenever practitioners or teams change.
Receiving a report without direct 1:1 therapy for the participant or enough in-person coaching and support for the people implementing it.
From referral to implementation
Intake reviews the request, location, needs and current practitioner availability.
The practitioner learns with the participant and key people, then develops practical, individualised strategies.
Skilled PBS practitioners deliver direct 1:1 therapy with the participant, alongside in-person coaching and support for families and teams to use, review and adapt strategies in everyday life.
